April play group
First off, I know I have been a bad blogger. Even the Mr has noticed - yikes! All I can say is that a new job takes a while to settle into and I am still trying to find my routine. There is lots of stuff to post, but I have been too tired to do it. I will do my best to get everything caught up. But I had to post today's fun first. After you see the pictures, you will understand why.
I joined a doggie play group about a year ago. This group meets at someone's house once a month for a doggie fun time. We make it every few months depending on the weather (meaning whether I want to be out in it) and our schedule (or should I say Rocky's dock jumping schedule). We joined so that Leo would have a chance to play with lots of other dogs and meet lots of people. We thought this was an important part of properly socializing a normally aloof breed of dog. Today was a play group day and boy were the dogs ready for it. It had been rainy on and off all week and we had business dinners out twice this week. So, the dogs were restless and ready to go. I usually only take Leo, but I figured Rocky could use some play time too. Plus, I figured he would sucker at least a few different humans into throwing a toy for him, so I wouldn't have to. Needless to say, the dogs had a blast.
Leo takes off to chase a new friend (note the mud puddle he was in to start)

Leo says, "Look at the fun mud puddle I found mom!"

Mud + drool = lots of fun

Leo and Rocky both found the puddle (again)

Leo is trying to uncover another mud puddle

Leo decided to roll in the grass and add some mud/dirt to his face too

"Look Ma, I got dirt on my face now too!"

More chase

Leo decides to dig in the giant mud puddle

More chase - this Leo is being chased and loving it

Ready to go home

Leo says, "What do you mean I am still dirty?"

Believe it or not, the dogs weren't that hard to clean up. I let them dry and then brushed them out. It was about 3 hours after we got home before they were clean enough to come in the house, but most of that was drying time on the deck. It took 3 tried at brushing to get them completed, mostly because Leo is blowing his coat too so I only brushed him for about 15 minutes at a time.
