Awesome dock jumping weekend wrap-up

What a fabulous weekend!

The Mr replaced the starter in the 'burb Monday morning when we got there and we were good to go.

Rocky jumped one more round before the finals and he jumped flat 18-footers. He was flat and was still going over 18 feet. I was worried that by Day 3 his age would start to show and he would be slowing down. Nope, not my Rockstar! He went into the Senior division finals as the first place dog. All 5 dogs in his finals had their best jump between 19'8" and 19'10". Talk about a competitive field. His best jump in finals was 19'4" and it earned him a 4th place finish in his division. Which I am thrilled with. He earned his spot in finals and proved that as an almost 8 year old dog he is still going strong and getting better!

Leo didn't jump off the dock again, but he jumped off the ramp without even bothering to get his feet wet first. He is showing real potential. We have always hoped he would jump, but now we are really seeing it. It will still be a process, but the fact that he jumps off the ramp and swims to fetch a toy is very exciting.

Pictures will come later. The Mr and I (along with the boys) were pretty tired from 3 busy days, so we are a little behind.

I also want to give a huge congratulations to Maddy, who earned an invitation to the Purina IDC competition in October with a jump in finals over 25 feet. I believe it was 25'4". That is a huge jump and even bigger when you consider it was at the end of a 3-day competition. Congrats to Maddy and her mom and dad. Good Luck at Purina - make us proud!
