Leo's Playdate
I have Leo this update for a while, but I was hoping to steal borrow more pictures for it. Since I didn't take my camera I had to rely on other people's pictures and this is what I got.
I found out about a doggie playgroup that meets once a month for a few hours for the dogs to socialize and romp and play. I wanted to take Leo because he is still technically a puppy and I want to encourage good doggie behaviors. I left Rocky with the Mr because Rocky just wants to play ball or Frisbee or fetch. Leo likes to play with other dogs.
I was a bit nervous because I had heard about the group on the Internet, but never actually met any of the people. And Leo is a big dog and some people (and sometimes most people depending where we are) are a little scared or unsure of him. Silly me. I should have known better.
When I get to the address, it is someone's house. That they open up to up to 50 people/dogs once a month to play in their fenced in back yard. Wow, that is pretty awesome. So in we go. I figure out who the organizer is and then my fears melt away. She has three dogs - a big black lab, a Newfie and this other big hairy dog name Moo Cow. I can't put my finger on Moo Cow's breed, so I ask. Moo Cow is a Newfie/Great Pyrenees mix.
Leo is happy there are dogs running around. He doesn't quite understand the little ones, but there are big ones too. Some run faster, some run slower, some want to play with big dogs, some play with little dogs. Leo became good buddies with Bruiser who was just a bit bigger than him and liked to wrestle. Leo also proved he still likes the water and kiddie pools. For a breed that isn't fond of the water and a dog that learned he could swim about a month ago, he sure does like the water now. I actually kept shooing him out of the pools to go play.
The only picture I could find of Leo is standing in a kiddie pool, with Moo Cow next to him (sorry I don't remember the other dog).
