Where am I?
I am gone - not really. But I did leave the Mr and the boys home alone for 6 days as I left to go stay with my niece and nephew for 6 days. Their parents are on a trip and I am the second shift of family that came in to watch the kids. So far, so good. We survived the first day and it is going well.
Flying is always fun. I got patted down going through security - mental note - don't wear a hooded sweatshirt through the screening. But no big deal. I usually only fly around the holidays so, I found this experience much more enjoyable. Everyone in security and in line was polite and relaxed. The plane was odd. First it was hot and then cold and then hot and then cold and then hot and then cold - all in a 1 1/2 hour flight.
The kids met me at the airport and we got to play before we headed to my niece's soccer practice. In an ironic twist, it was cold and windy at her soccer practice. I fly 1000 miles south and it was colder than it was at my house. Doesn't that figure. Thankfully weather is better today - might have to find shorts for tomorrow (probably not, but have to rub it in to the Mr that I am someplace warmer than him).
Last night I managed bath time and getting the kids to bed with some help from the rest of the second shift (Grandma Alice).
So far today is going well. My niece is at school - my nephew is down for his nap (how else would I have time to blog?) - the dogs are napping - the dishwasher is running and I think we are under control. Although I am not sure what is for dinner yet - better go figure that out.
And to my little brother - I already changed my first poopy diaper for the visit (and many others) and I have survived just fine!
