Meet Team Rocketdog

I will be honest that I am not sure what this blog will turn into or what I will blog about, but I have to start someplace and we will just see what happens.

Who is Team Rocketdog?
Team Rocketdog is Rocky and Leo along with their token humans - Jason and myself.
  • Rocky is our 7 year old Yellow Lab, our first-born, and the reason for the team name. We brought him home at 8 weeks old. We had only been in our house about a month and were still planning our wedding. A puppy seemed like a great idea . . .  Rocky is everyone's vision of a lab - happy-go-lucky, energetic, easy-going, energetic, retrieving-machine and did I mention he is energetic? He loves to fetch -  tennis balls, frisbees, sticks, anything really. And if he has to jump in the water - all the better. So, when he (and we) discovered dock jumping, it was like his dream come true. A game of fetch that involved swimming. Woo hoo. And that is where Team Rocketdog was born.
  • Leo is the newest addition to Team Rocketdog. He is an almost 1-year old Great Pyrenees that we rescued in June. Leo is . . . special. He is very different than Rocky. He is more cautious, more conservative, a bit aloof, apparently a typical pyrenees and has considerably less energy (although every dog has less energy than Rocky). We are still learning about Pyrenees and Leo, every day is surprise. But to say he and Rocky are opposites is a safe statement.
  • Jason is a man of many titles. Thanks to taking up dock jumping his duties include: photographer, pooper scooper, dog walker, dog stuff hauler and chauffeur.
  • Me - it is my job to manage it all!
I can't  finish the Team Rocketdog introductions without mentioning Newman. Newman was a Newfie/GSD mix we rescued 5 years ago. His story is long and I will tell it sometime, but not now. Newman was always a willing cheerleader for Team Rocketdog. Unfortunately, Newman passed away 4 months ago. But he will always be a part of our hearts and Team Rocketdog.

And that is your quick introduction to Team Rocketdog!
